As expected, Bendel Insurance confirmed their place in the season ending Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six competition after a 1-1 draw against Shooting Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Both teams also battled to a thrilling 2-2 draw earlier in the campaign in Ibadan.

Three other teams, Enyimba, Remo Stars and Akwa United are in contention to join Monday Odigie’s side in the Super Six.

The two other slots will be decided on the final day, this Sunday.

Dakkada became the first club to be officially relegated from the NPFL this season after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lobi Stars on Saturday.

The Uyo club were later joined by Nasarawa United and El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.

Nasarawa United lost 1-0 to Kwara United at the Akure Sports Complex, while El-Kanemi Warriors fell 2-0 against Akwa United in Uyo.

Wikki Tourists eased their relegation fears courtesy of a 4-0 home win against Abia Warriors.

The Bauchi Elephants will however need to win their remaining two games to escape relegation.

Group B leaders, Lobi Stars picked a valuable draw point on the road in Uyo and now need just a point to seal a place in the Super Six.
