Barcelona 1-1 Napoli: Ferran Torres’ penalty cancels out Piotr Zielinski’s opener

After their shocking knockout in the Champions League. Barcelona take on Napoli in the R16 first leg of the Europa League.

The Spanish side started the half brilliant but fall to an early defeat to Napoli 15 minutes before the break.

Zielinski scores the opener to give his side the lead.He played a one-two down the right with Eljif Elmas and, when his shot was pushed out by Ter Stegen, he buried the rebound.

Barcelona struggled to find a way back into the game until VAR awarded them a penalty in 58th minute which Ferran Torres coolly dispatched to level the score, but Ferran missed three huge chances to give Barcelona a first-leg advantage over the Italian side.

The tie is now poised with the second leg to be played on Thursday, 24th February at the Stadio San Paolo.
