The massive turnout of Yobe State youths who came from different parts of the country to witness the swearing-in of Dr. Mohammed Goje as the substantive SSG of Yobe State is truly inspiring.
Look closely at these young men and women, and you will see the faces of Yobe’s future leaders professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, community builders, political actors and, above all, good ambassadors of our dear state. Their presence is a clear demonstration of the strong bond, unity and commitment among Yobe youths.
I must use this medium to heavily appreciate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for believing in and creating opportunities for young people to participate in governance.
As the saying goes, “A government that invests in its youth is investing in the future of society.” Governor Buni’s recognition of the role of young people in governance is a step in the right direction.
To the teeming youths who travelled to Yobe to witness this historic moment, I wish you safe travels back to your various destinations.
I know almost all of you personally, and I know some of your contributions to the development of Yobe. Beyond your individual achievements, many of you are doing tremendous work through mentorship, guiding younger ones, creating opportunities and helping to raise the next generation of responsible Yobe leaders.
This is the kind of legacy that truly matters.
Congratulations once again, Dr. Mohammed Goje. This is a new responsibility, and I pray you succeed. Represent us well, serve with humility, and make Yobe proud.
Yobe youths are ready. The future is ours.
