Seven passengers were injured on Friday in a road traffic accident involving an 18-seater commercial bus along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway.
The crash was reportedly triggered by a tyre burst, which caused the vehicle to lose control and veer off the road.
Yobe Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (YEMABUS) confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its Information and Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Waziri, and circulated to journalists in Damaturu.
According to the statement, a YEMABUS response team was immediately deployed to the scene following a distress call.
“The YEMABUS crew worked tirelessly to rescue the victims and transported them to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, for urgent medical attention,” the statement read.
YEMABUS reiterated its commitment to providing timely emergency medical services across the state and urged road users to prioritise safety and maintain high levels of alertness while travelling.
