Suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters have launched coordinated attacks on Ja Jibiri and Ladu villages in Yobe State, injuring a village head, abducting a driver and looting a primary healthcare facility.

The incident was disclosed on Sunday via a post on X by counter-insurgency and security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources.

According to the report, the attacks occurred at about 12:20 a.m. on December 27, 2025.

During the raid on Ja Jibiri village, the attackers reportedly shot the village head, Lawan Hassan (45), in the left shoulder. He was later rushed to Geidam General Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.

The assailants were said to have proceeded to Ladu village, where they abducted a 40-year-old driver, Madu Kura, who was driving a Toyota Hilux at the time of the incident.

The terrorists also reportedly broke into the Primary Health Care Medical Centre in the village, looting medical consumables and other valuables, and making away with a Volkswagen Golf vehicle.

Security operatives in the area have since been placed on high alert, with surveillance intensified and efforts ongoing to track down the attackers and rescue the abducted victim.
