As the Muslim Ramadan fast progresses, the Yobe State Police Command has intensified security measures across the state to ensure a safe and peaceful Ramadan, particularly during the last ten days of the fasting period.

According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the command has implemented security surveillance measures and joint patrol teams in all areas.

The police are urging mosques and praying grounds observing Tahujjud prayers to take additional security precautions, including improvising local security measures, being vigilant, and reporting suspicious activities or objects immediately.

The Command also advised worshippers to take necessary precautions when leaving for night prayers, such as informing neighbours or family members, locking doors and windows, switching on outdoor lights, and walking in groups.

The Police have also assured the community of their commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the Ramadan period.
