Gov Kefas expresses readiness to support members of the Nigerian Legion

Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has expressed readiness to support and partner with members of the Nigeria Legion and families of fallen heroes.

The Governor who stated this at the Jolly Nyame stadium Jalingo during the 2024 Remembrance Day Celebration of the Nigeria Legion
said the history of the state is interwoven with the bravery of the armed forces as they have stood tall in the face of adversity, defending the boarders and ensuring the safety of the communities in the state.

Dr. Agbu Kefas explained that the commitment and resilience of the fallen heroes deserved the deepest respect by the people.

He urged the Tarabans not to forget the families of the fallen soldiers and pledged the commitment of his administration to the families and the Nigeria Legion to enable them live meaningfully.

“I called for commitment in supporting the armed forces to have enough resources for training and all the care they need to have a safer and prosperous state”. Kefas said.

In his remarks, Chairman Nigeria Legion Taraba State Council retired Warrant Officer Samaila Nuhu said Taraba State has high number of ex- service Men and expressed the need for the renovation of the
State office of the Legion calling on the Governor to come to their aid.

The Chairman also called for support to the families and widows of the fallen soldiers and asked the Government to assist them with skills acquisition training to boost their economic based.

Highlights of the occasion were Match past, laying of wreath by Governor Agbu Kefas, Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, Chief Judge, Brigade Commander, Commissioner of Police, Chairman Nigeria Legion and Medical outreach by Ex-Army Pikin Association.
