The Governor of Taraba State Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has appointed twenty-three new Permanent Secretaries from ten out of the sixteen Local Government areas and Yangtu Special Development area of the State.  Bali, Kurmi, Takum, Wukari and Zing Local Governments has three new Permanent Secretaries each, Ibi Local Government and Yangtu Special Development area has two each while Karim Lamido and Sardauna Local Governments has one new Permanent Secretary each.

Swearing in the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries at the Government House Jalingo the Governor said their appointment was a testimony to the adage that says hard work pays.

“This is a reward for your dedication and safe less service over the years in the State Civil Service the position every Civil Servant aspired to attain however not every Civil Servant reaches the level of a permanent Secretary which is equivalent of a General in the Nigerian Army”.   Governor Ishaku maintained that the lean resources at the disposal of his administration coupled with other challenges did not make it possible for every qualified civil Servant to be appointed a Permanent Secretary but that’s not to say that every worker should not put in his best and aspire for the highest position in the Civil Service.

“You are appointed based on merit and equally qualified for the Position that’s why you should consider yourself very fortunate by redoubling your efforts and dedication to duty”.

“I appreciate the dedication and hard work of the State Civil Service whose vital inputs contributed immensely for the success story we had in Taraba State I called on the Civil Servants to pass this hard work and dedication to the incoming Governor Colonel Agbu Kefas retired I have indeed overworked you and changed the sleeping habit in all of you”.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku equally commended the Labour Leaders in the State for their support and cooperation during the two terms of his administration.   In a vote of thanks on behalf of the new Permanent Secretaries, Dr. Micah Musa expressed delight for having the opportunity for serving for eight solid years under the administration of the Governor as Directors and Chief Executive Officers of various Ministries, Boards and Parastatals.

“We can say emphatically that you have changed our mindsets and virtually pulled us along today we are better Civil Servants this is noticeable as we begin to count the success stories of the Rescue Agenda during the eight years we can say the quantum of the achievements is the result of the Rescue Agenda of this administration you have indeed Rescued Taraba State”.

Dr. Micah Musa said they are humbled by their elevation to the position of Permanent Secretaries and pledged allegiance and commitments to the service of Taraba State.

“With this new responsibility we assured you we Will redouble our efforts to ensure that Taraba State has the best”.
