Senegal and Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy has named the Netherlands among one of the favourite countries to win this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Senegal are in Group A at the World Cup. The West Africans will face the likes of the Netherlands, Qatar and Ecuador.
The Teranga Lions will be without their star player Sadio Mane, who has been ruled out of the World Cup because of injury, when they face the Netherlands in their first match on Monday.

“We [Senegal national team] are particularly hungry and have a lot of plans,” Mendy told Wettbasis.
“Making it to the [World Cup] round of 16 should be the minimum goal.
“Starting against the Netherlands will not be a pleasant task at all. In my eyes, the Oranje team belongs to the extended circle of favourites [to win the World Cup].”
