Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has visited communities in Duguri, Alkaleri Local Government Area, following a recent bandit attack that left several residents dead and others injured.

The governor, accompanied by top government officials and security personnel, first paid a visit to the palace of the Adamu Mohammed, where he received a briefing on the recurring attacks by bandits and kidnappers in the area.

He later proceeded to Kafin Duguri, where it was confirmed that four people were killed and several others sustained serious injuries after armed bandits, reportedly riding on over 100 motorcycles, invaded the community.

Addressing residents, Governor Mohammed assured them that his administration would not tolerate banditry in the state, emphasizing that tackling insecurity requires strong collaboration between security agencies and local communities.

He announced plans to recruit more indigenes into vigilante groups and local government security outfits to strengthen the protection of lives and property.

The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Omolorin, also appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies in efforts to curb insecurity.

In his remarks, the Emir of Duguri commended the governor for the visit and praised the resilience of the Kafin Duguri community in the face of repeated attacks.
