Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has signed an Executive Order directing the immediate commencement and completion of payments for all outstanding pensions, gratuities, and related entitlements owed to verified pensioners across the state.

A statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yusuf Sanda, said the directive reflects Kefas’ compassion and unwavering commitment to the welfare of senior citizens who have served the state with dedication.

“Taraba State must honour those who devoted their lives to public service. Their dignity is non-negotiable, and attending to their welfare is our moral duty,” Governor Kefas declared.

As part of the implementation process, a special outreach team will be deployed to all 16 Local Government Areas—covering wards and villages—to identify, verify, and document pensioners who are alive but incapacitated, ensuring they receive their entitlements without difficulty.

Governor Kefas further ordered the State Ministry of Finance to submit weekly compliance reports to his office, warning that no administrative bottlenecks will be tolerated in processing the payments.

The Governor called on pensioners to remain calm, assuring them that the exercise is being prioritized and will be executed with urgency.
