Shock and grief have gripped the Taraba State University (TSU) community following the discovery of the lifeless body of a female undergraduate in Jalingo.

The deceased, identified as Comfort Jimtop Oliver, a 100-level Mass Communication student from Takum Local Government Area, was reportedly found dead inside the residence of her boyfriend in the Bakasi area of the state capital.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear. However, the Taraba State Police Command has confirmed that investigations are underway to unravel the cause of death and the events leading up to the tragedy.

Police spokesperson, James Lashen, said details of the incident were still sketchy but assured that authorities would leave no stone unturned in uncovering the truth. He noted that updates would be provided as soon as the Divisional Police Officer handling the case submits a report.

The tragic development has left staff and students of the institution in mourning, with many describing Comfort as a “promising young life cut short.” University authorities also pledged to cooperate fully with security agencies to ensure the matter is thoroughly investigated.
