The Yobe State Government is set to host a grand reception in honour of three extraordinary students, Nafisa Abdullah, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kalli Kashim, who brought global glory to Nigeria at the prestigious 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.

Seventeen-year-old Nafisa Abdullah emerged world-best in English Language Skills, while 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema clinched the Best Overall Debater award in a keenly contested competition involving over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, including native English-speaking nations.

Joining this elite group of achievers is Hadiza Kalli Kashim, who earned a bronze medal in Productive Skills and also received the Best Talent Award, further showcasing the depth of talent nurtured in Yobe State.

The three champions, all students of Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) and beneficiaries of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s full-tuition scholarship programme, were among the Nigerian delegates who proudly represented the country at the international stage.

Governor Buni, in a statement made available to MaidawaArewa, described their victories as “a monumental honour not just to Yobe State, but to the entire nation.”

“These young ladies have made history. Their performance is a glowing testament to what focused investment in education can achieve. We are proud of them and will celebrate them accordingly,” Governor Buni said.

He further reiterated his administration’s commitment to accessible, high-quality education, noting that Yobe currently has over 40,000 students on government scholarships, both within and outside Nigeria.

“We have rebuilt schools destroyed by insurgency, equipped classrooms, provided books, laboratories, and hired qualified teachers. These results show we are on the right path,” the Governor added.

This forthcoming state-sponsored celebration will honour Nafisa, Rukayya, and Hadiza’s historic achievements and inspire countless other students across Yobe State and Nigeria to strive for excellence.
