Newly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars and current Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has unveiled an ambitious nine-point agenda aimed at restoring the iconic football club to its former dominance in Nigerian football.

Speaking on Thursday at the club’s home ground in Kano, Musa delivered a passionate address, urging fans, private sponsors, and the government to rally behind the club as it embarks on a new chapter.

“We are going for the trophy this time around,” Musa declared. “I’ve brought a clear nine-point agenda to revive the glory of this great club. I need the full support of Kano sports lovers to make it happen.”

Musa acknowledged the challenge of his dual role as General Manager and active player, but expressed readiness to balance both responsibilities.

“On the pitch, I’m a player and the coach has the authority—even to discipline me. But off the pitch, I’m the boss,” he clarified.

Among the key highlights of his plan are: Securing corporate sponsorships, Boosting the team’s social media presence, fostering fan engagement, promoting a strong club identity through merchandise, and creating a self-sustaining financial model.

Musa noted that the club has already begun reaching out to private companies for partnerships and sponsorships, stressing that long-term success can’t rely solely on government funding.

“With our fans and the right jersey deals, we can succeed without leaning entirely on the government,” he said.

He also celebrated recent improvements in the club’s digital footprint, saying increased online activity was just the beginning of a broader strategy to modernize and professionalize the club’s operations.

Musa concluded by reaffirming his commitment to restoring pride to the Kano Pillars fanbase:

“We’ve learned from last season’s failures. Now, it’s time to rebuild, compete, and win.”

As Musa takes on this historic dual role, expectations are high among fans that his leadership—on and off the pitch—could mark the start of a golden era for Kano Pillars.
