The Nigerian Army has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anaele as its first-ever female spokesperson, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.
Lt Col. Anaele will take over as the Acting Director of Army Public Relations on April 22, 2025, succeeding Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu.
With over 50 years of the Army’s establishment, Lt Col. Anaele becomes the first woman to lead its public relations department.
