Bandits kill over 50 farmers, set military armoured vehicle ablaze in Katsina

Bandits in Kankara, Katsina State, have launched attacks on communities, preventing them from participating in their farming activities.

MaidawaArewa understood that about 50 farmers were killed near Yar Goje town in these merciless attacks.

The bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, were said to have attacked the villages on Sunday.

It was also gathered that a military armored vehicle sent to assist was set ablaze, causing casualties among military personnel.

A resident of the area, Jamilu, said that recently about 15 farmers and their vigilante protectors were ambushed and killed while working in fields between Mabai and Katsalle.

The source added that more bodies were being discovered and the injured were being taken to hospitals.
