Following a two-day nationwide warning strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress, the Yobe State House of Assembly has rescheduled its public hearings on the bills for laws to establish the Hisbah Commission and Information Technology Development Agency.

This is contained in a statement issued and jointly signed by the chairmen of the respective committees, Hon. Yakubu Suleiman and Hon. Sadiq Yahaya, and made available to newsmen.

“The public hearings will now hold on Thursday 7th September, 2023 by 11:00am at the Assembly conference in Damaturu”, the statement noted.

The Assembly standing committees on information and of justice, judiciary, and religious affairs had earlier scheduled to hold a one-day public hearing on bills for laws to establish the Hisbah Commission and Information Technology Development Agency in the state.

The public hearings were scheduled for Tuesday but were suspended to the new date due to an ongoing nationwide warning strike by the NLC.
