All rice shares are clean and edible – says YOSEMA

Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, YOSEMA has reacted to a mischievous picture of an inedible rice circulating on the internet said to be shared by YOSEMA.

Dr. Mohammed Goje, the YOSEMA boss while reacting to the picture in a statement on Monday urged the public to disregard such mischievous false reports, as all rice shared are clean and edible.

“We are not yet done sharing the state owned palliative as directed by governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni,” he said.

Recall that, on August 10, 2023, the palliative distribution was flagged off by Gov. Buni in Damaturu, the state capital.

According to the statement, similar distribution event was held in Fune and Jakusko on August  12 and 15, 2023 in accordance with the governor’s directive.

“We also want to make it known to the public that, the already started distribution is the State own palliative, which was tagged as phase one, the federal government palliative will be shared as phase two,” the YOSEMA boss added.

 

Dr. Goje noted that all beneficiaries take home 10kg of rice and other food items in the state owned palliative.

He assured that YOSEMA will continue with the already started palliative distribution in Potiskum where Seven thousand (7000) households, Gulani three thousand (3000) households and Bade 4000 households will benefit.

According to him, the intervention will reach approximately 400,000 households within the government available resources.
