Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has explained why his administration honoured Hajiya Aisha ‘Yan Nahuche for returning money she picked in Saudi Arabia to the owner.

Aisha ‘Yan Nahuche, had, during her pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, returned the sum of $80,000, about N64,240,000, intact to the Zamfara Pilgrims Welfare Agency for onward return to the owner.

In a statement on Thursday in Gusau, the Governor’s media aide, Bala Suleiman, said the Governor appreciates the good name the female pilgrim gave to Zamfara State.

The Governor said the good conduct of the female pilgrim has clearly shown that there are still good people around irrespective of the present economic hardship facing Nigerians.

“If everybody behaves like Hajiya Aisha Nahuche, Nigeria will be a very better place for everyone to live in, he added.

“The entire people of Zamfara State are proud and happy over what Hajiya Aishatu did in Saudi Arabia. It has added to the good name of the entire people of Zamfara”

“It is an honour for us, not to Hajiya Aisha, she has written her name in the good books of history. Such a gesture is expected of any faithful Muslim, especially in a holy land”

“The Zamfara State Government would do the needful to help the family of Hajiya Aisha”

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will also honour Hajiya Aisha for this act of honesty.”
