The University of Maiduguri has merged two sessions as a result of disruptions in academic calender.
The two sessions are 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 sessions.
Filibus Yamta Mshelia, director, senate and academics matters of the university made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday.
According to him, the institution made the decision ‘due to disruption in academic activiies and other circumstances beyond the management.’
‘This is to inform all staff and students that the vice chancellor has, on behalf of the senate, approved the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions be merged.
‘This in effect means the institution is currently running the 2022/2023 academic sessions,’ the release read.
Mshelia assured faculties and departments of maximum support to that may have difficulties caused by the merger.
The management also urged all staff and students to work assiduously to achieve the successful completion of the 2022/2023 sessions.
