Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, inspected the main bowl of the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, the venue slated for his planned defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The inspection comes ahead of the official defection ceremony scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Governor Kefas was accompanied by members of the National Assembly from Taraba State, senior APC stakeholders, and a large number of supporters during the visit.

While inspecting the facilities, the governor assessed the level of preparedness at the stadium to ensure a smooth and hitch-free event. He said the visit was necessary to personally confirm that all arrangements were in place for the programme.

The governor expressed confidence that the defection ceremony would be successful.

The event is expected to attract several high-profile dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the APC National Chairman, and other top party leaders.
