The Executive Chairperson of Karim Lamido Local Government Area in Taraba State, Virginia Baba Bambur, has strongly condemned the renewed communal clashes involving residents of Usumanu, Minghe, Garin Galadima, Anguwan Mission Karim, Karim Maundi, Sarkin Kudu, Lewata, Didango, and several neighbouring communities.

The incident, which occurred on the night of November 29, 2025, resulted in destruction of property, displacement of families, and heightened tensions across the affected areas.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Baba Bambur described the violence as “unfortunate and unacceptable,” stressing that the Local Government remains committed to fostering peace, dialogue, and community cohesion.

She disclosed that efforts are already underway to engage community leaders, elders, and other stakeholders in discussions aimed at addressing the root causes of the conflict.

“It is crucial for everyone involved to participate in constructive dialogue and embrace solutions that promote harmony and progress. Through collaboration and mutual understanding, we can build a brighter and safer future for all residents,” she stated.

The Chairperson further emphasized that the administration of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas is committed to implementing sustainable initiatives geared toward strengthening security and enhancing the quality of life across Karim Lamido.

“Together, we can build a community where peace and prosperity become the norm and every individual has the opportunity to thrive. I urge all sides to sheath their swords in the interest of peace,” she added.

The Local Government has urged residents to remain calm while authorities work with security agencies to restore order and prevent further escalation.
