Governor Buni Presents ₦515.6 Billion 2026 Budget to Yobe Assembly

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has presented a proposed budget of ₦515.58 billion for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.

The appropriation bill, tagged “Budget of Economic Growth and Infrastructural Transformation,” marks a significant increase from the ₦320.81 billion approved for the outgoing year.

Governor Buni explained that the budget is structured to cater to capital, recurrent, overhead, and personnel expenditures, with ₦192.13 billion (37.3%) allocated for recurrent spending and ₦323.46 billion (62.7%) dedicated to capital projects.

He highlighted key sectors that would receive priority attention in 2026, including healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure development, such as roads, electricity, and water supply.

The governor also announced plans to establish a dialysis center in Gashua to support kidney patients and to construct a new General Hospital in Potiskum to ease the pressure on the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu.

Governor Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent resource management and sustainable development aimed at improving the welfare of Yobe citizens.
