Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has signed into law the ₦143.42 billion 2025 Supplementary Budget, following its approval by the State House of Assembly. The appropriation also includes a virement of ₦14.68 billion to strengthen key sectors of his administration, with implementation extended to May 31, 2026.

The supplementary budget, according to government sources, is designed to address urgent funding gaps in critical areas such as security, infrastructure, and economic development. It also aims to cushion the effects of inflation and exchange rate fluctuations on ongoing projects across the state.

Officials say the additional funding will enable the state to respond effectively to emerging economic and security challenges, realign fiscal priorities in line with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), and accelerate strategic development initiatives.

With the new appropriation, Taraba’s total budget for 2025 now stands at ₦574.8 billion — comprising 68.9 percent capital expenditure and 31.1 percent recurrent spending.

The House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, while endorsing the supplementary budget, urged the executive arm to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely disbursement of funds to achieve the objectives outlined in the fiscal plan.
