In a decisive move to secure rural communities, troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation HADIN KAI have discovered and safely detonated 14 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted across farmlands in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to military sources quoted by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the deadly devices were uncovered during intensified counter-IED (CIED) clearance operations in Bitta and surrounding communities.

The IEDs, believed to have been planted by terrorists, were strategically placed along farming paths and key access roads, posing a serious threat to local farmers and security personnel operating in the region.

Military engineers carried out controlled detonations to neutralize the explosives, averting potential casualties and restoring confidence among farming communities.

This operation marks a significant success in the military’s ongoing campaign to rid the Northeast of explosive remnants and create safer environments for civilians to return to their livelihoods.
