Yobe Varsity Gets Acting VC

The governing council of Yobe State University, Damaturu, has approved the appointment of Bukar Jamri as the acting Vice Chancellor (VC) of the institution.

The university’s director of information, Uwani-Mamuda, said in a statement in Damaturu on Wednesday that the appointment would take effect from February 13.

According to her, Mr Jamri’s appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of Mala Daura, the incumbent VC of the university.

She said the council also approved the appointment of Garba Girgir as the acting registrar of the institution, with effect from January 15.

The director said that the two appointments were approved at an extraordinary meeting of the council on Wednesday.Until his appointment, Mr Jamri was the Deputy VC, Administration, of the institution.
