As a concerned citizen and advocate for the welfare of our state’s civil servants, I, Lawan Munkaila, urge His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, to consider providing a special Sallah support package for civil servants in Yobe State ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Eid-l-Kabir) celebrations. Civil servants have been instrumental in your administration’s successes and continue to be the backbone of our state’s progress. Their dedication and hard work have significantly contributed to the achievements of your government.

Given the current economic challenges exacerbated by the removal of fuel subsidies and global inflation, many civil servants and their families are facing financial hardships. This period, marked by significant financial strain, has made it increasingly difficult for them to meet their daily needs. The Eid al-Adha festival, which traditionally falls towards the end of the year, further compounds these challenges as families struggle with school fees, house rent, loan repayments, and agricultural preparations.

A special Sallah support package would not only alleviate these financial burdens but also demonstrate your administration’s commitment to the well-being of its workforce. Such an initiative would provide much-needed relief and allow civil servants to partake in the festive celebrations with dignity and joy.

Furthermore, I encourage you to look towards the example set by the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda. Governor Radda has implemented a commendable program to support civil servants in his state during this festive period. His proactive approach has garnered appreciation and has set a precedent for how state leaders can support their workers in times of need. Emulating this initiative would be a testament to your administration’s empathy and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

Your Excellency, the people of Yobe State look up to you for leadership and support, especially during these trying times. The implementation of a Sallah support package would not only be a gesture of goodwill but also a recognition of the sacrifices and contributions of our civil servants. It would serve as a morale booster and a reinforcement of their vital role in the state’s development.

In conclusion, I earnestly appeal to you to consider this request and take swift action to support the civil servants and civil society organizations in Yobe State. Your intervention at this crucial juncture would be highly appreciated and would go a long way in alleviating the economic pressures faced by many families in our state.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration of this important matter.

Sincerely,

Lawan Munkaila
