Late Lami Adamu Lau was an inspiration: Gov. Kefas

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas has described the late frontline woman leader and President of National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau as an inspiration to him.

In a Condolence message, the Governor said he was encouraged by her actions to know that educating a woman is a gift to the whole world and expressed his faith in the administrative ability of women which made him the Governor with the highest number of women in his Cabinet in Nigeria now.

“Late Lami Lau was a Taraba golden export to the rest of the world, her contributions to women’s causes stand tall in the history of gender activism and her demise has left a huge vacuum that may not easily be filled” Governor Kefas noted.

Kefas said late Lau would be remembered for her principles and against the oppression of women and her commitment to bettering the lives of women and children.

He condoled the family, State and the nation and prayed for the reposed of the soul of the departed, pledging for more inclusion of women inclusion in his government.

Late Lami Adamu Lau and indigene of Taraba State who died in Kebbi State on Tuesday during an official engagement was an educationist before assending the position of the president National Council of women Societies.

The body of the late women activist was flown to Jalingo the Taraba State capital yesterday From Birnin Kebbi and buried at the Jeka-da-Fari graveyard according to Islamic injunctions led by the Taraba State deputy Governor Aminu Alkali and attended by other top government functionaries, relations and friends.
