Ajid Musa Ajid, chairman of Kala Balge Local Government Area, has returned to the town after a 10-year absence due to the Boko Haram insurgency.

Ajid was accompanied by his deputy, the district head of Rann, a representative of the district head of Kala, the police DPO and Civilian JTF, among others.

Ajid expressed happiness and relief upon entering the town without security threats.

‘After 10 years without knowing the situation of our town, today we have entered Kala Balge without security threats,’ Mr. Ajid said.

He addressed the community, saying, ‘I want to tell our people, including those displaced for years, to remain calm.

‘I have seen the situation in our town and will inform the governor immediately. We will return to our local government soon.’

Ajid acknowledged the state government efforts to resettle displaced persons and promised to inform him of the current improvements in the town.

‘Although the rainy season has approached, we will be resettled and continue with farming and other activities to boost the economy of our town and state after the rainy season.’

Kala Balge is located in the eastern part of Borno State, close to Cameroon.
