All Progressive Congress in Borno State has appointed a new state party chair to fill the vacuum left by the exit of Ali Dalori, who is now the party’s national vice chairman (north).

The new chairman is Hon. Bello Ayuba.

Until his appointment, Mr. Ayuba was the party’s state secretary.

He has been an active politician for years and held various political appointments including the office of a commissioner.

He hails from Bayo Local Government of Borno. He is now the second APC party chairman in the state.

In his acceptance speech, Ayuba expressed his gratitude to the various stakeholders who made sure he was appointed into the office.

‘Today marks a significant milestone in my political career as I stand before you as the newly appointed chairman of our great party, APC. I am highly delighted and honored by the trust and confidence you have reposed in me, and I accept this investiture with utmost gratitude and a sense of great responsibility,’ he said.

He also thanked Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his exemplary leadership, after acknowledging the achievements of his government in various sectors.

Mr. Ayuba promised to unite the party and thus warned against anti-party activities, which he said will be in display in the forthcoming local government elections in January next year.

‘I offer myself today as a servant and shall maintain fairness to all that will make the APC a darling for all,’ he said.

He was elected along with Barrister Mustapha Loskuri, former general manager of Monday Market, as the new state secretary.

Governor Zulum, who also graced the state congress congratulated the new executives.

He noted that Ayuba’s election was a testament to the principle of fairness which the party has continued to uphold.

He emphasized that he is the first politician from southern Borno to hold the position of a state chairman of a ruling party.
