Governor Buni’s Strategic Approach in Mobilizing Resources for Yobe’s Development

Yobe state, as one of the lowest Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) figures, faces significant challenges in terms of resource mobilization for development. In order to transform the state into a thriving and developing region, Governor Buni has adopted a proactive approach that involves seeking resources outside the State.

 

Recall during his first tenure, Governor Buni spearheaded an impressive array of infrastructure projects, over 140 primary healthcare centers were built and rehabilitated, ensuring improved access to healthcare for the people of Yobe State.

Additionally, the construction of the largest maternal and pediatric center in the country showcased the governor’s commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities, moreover, ultramodern markets were established across five major local government areas, promoting trade and economic growth.

 

The governor’s focus on education was evident through the construction of mega and model schools in all three geopolitical zones of the state, furthermore Governor Buni recognized the importance of reviving key industries in Yobe to boost the state’s economy. Under his leadership, the Yobe Flour Mill Company, Yobe Aluminum Company, and Yobe Sack and Woven Company were reinstated, creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth.

These initiatives not only generated revenue for the state but also helped in reducing unemployment rates. Governor Buni’s administration prioritized the development of infrastructure and social support systems, roads were constructed, improving connectivity within the state and facilitating transportation of goods and services.

Additionally, boreholes were drilled to provide access to clean water for communities. Empowerment programs were implemented to support entrepreneurship and alleviate poverty among the youth and vulnerable populations. Agricultural support programs were also introduced to enhance farming practices and increase agricultural productivity.

 

To sustain the momentum of development projects and tackle the resource constraints faced by Yobe state, Governor Buni has been actively engaging with partners, organizations, friends, the federal government, and non-governmental organizations by reaching out to these entities, he aims is to attract investments, secure funding, and foster collaborations that can further accelerate the development of the state.

 

This strategic approach ensures that Yobe maximizes its potential for growth and progress. Governor Buni’s absence from Yobe state is not a sign of neglect but a deliberate effort to mobilize resources for the development of the state.

 

His proactive approach has yielded substantial results, with significant improvements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and job creation, seeking partnerships and support from various stakeholders, Governor Buni is paving the way for a prosperous and sustainable future for Yobe state.
