According to him, the visit focused on community consultation and engagement in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) targeting the LG staff, community and religious leaders, youths and women groups in the communities.

“The objective of the visit is to also share previous experiences and the threats posed by 2022 flood disaster, discuss risk factors, assess llevels of vulnerability, coping strategies, impacts, strength, gaps and as well review what the LGs and community are doing as part of preparation for the 2023 flood disaster, especially as NiMET published 2023 Rainfall Prediction Outlook across the state” he said.

Goje added that key deliberations were made and the findings will be shared with appropriate authorities for action and mitigation plans.

He assured that the next visit will focus on Geidam, Gulani, Gujba, Bursari and Tarmuwa local government areas of the state.
