Academic Staff Union of Universities is reportedly holding an emergency meeting of its national executive committee in Abuja.

The closed-door meeting, which started at 12:42 pm on Monday, is currently holding at the union’s national secretariat at University of Abuja, according to the Daily Trust.

The meeting, presided over by the president of the union, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, is believed to discuss the subject of ‘half salary’ the federal government has paid lecturers in October, among others.

A member of the NEC said other pressing issues will be discussed and the resolutions made known to the public.
