Former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri, has delivered a scathing critique of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, labeling it a “disastrous catastrophe” compared to the government of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Waziri, a prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the Tinubu-led government has underperformed in key areas including security, the economy, and the fight against corruption.

“If the Buhari government was a failure, the Tinubu government in the last two years is a disastrous catastrophe,” Waziri declared. “It has failed in all ramifications, and the country has regressed.”

The former minister expressed shock at some public endorsements of the current administration, particularly from individuals whose communities are severely impacted by banditry and insecurity.

“I am surprised that people whose local governments are under the control of bandits can appear on national television to endorse this government,” he said.

Waziri’s comments underscore growing criticism from opposition voices and civil society over the direction of the Tinubu administration, now over a year into its tenure.
