Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has called on the newly appointed Emir of Gudi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka, to be a symbol of peace, unity, and development for the people of his emirate and the state at large.

Governor Buni’s charge was conveyed during the formal presentation of the letter of appointment to the new traditional ruler by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Muhammad Bello Kawuwa, who represented the Governor at the event.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Prof. Kawuwa emphasized the pivotal role of traditional institutions in community building, conflict resolution, and the preservation of cultural values. He urged the new Emir to discharge his duties with justice, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility.

“The Emirate must continue to serve as a beacon of harmony, guided by wisdom, inclusiveness, and the fear of God,” the Governor stated through his representative.

The brief but solemn presentation ceremony drew dignitaries from across the state, including the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakil; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Jajere; and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Saleh Samanja.

Also in attendance were prominent traditional leaders such as the Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa, alongside the Emirs of Fune and Shelleng.

In his remarks, the newly appointed Emir expressed profound gratitude to Governor Buni for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to lead with sincerity and a deep commitment to the welfare and development of his people.

“I am honoured by this call to service and will strive to uphold the values and responsibilities that come with this revered position,” the Emir stated.

Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka, a former member of the House of Representatives and accomplished public servant, was appointed following the passing of the former Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Khaji, who died after a protracted illness last week.
