Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Hon. Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka as the new emir of Gudi, following the passing of the late Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Kaji, after a prolonged illness.

The newly appointed traditional ruler, Hon. Ismaila Gadaka, brings a wealth of experience in public service and governance. He represented Fika/Fune Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019, and had earlier served as Commissioner in the Yobe State Government between 2007 and 2010.

Hon. Gadaka is currently the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Yawuri, Kebbi State, a position he has held since 2024. He also chairs the Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee in Yobe State.

A seasoned banker by profession, he previously worked with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Standard Trust Bank, where he rose to the rank of Business Manager. Until his elevation to the royal position, he held the traditional title of Yariman Gudi.

His appointment marks a new chapter in the leadership of Gudi Emirate, with expectations high for continuity, development, and cultural preservation.
