Yobe Government launches media training for staffs

Yobe State government has launched a media training workshop for information officers in it’s government.

The training is aimed at equipping them with modern information techniques and knowledge for effective and efficient public communication.

The training which started on Tuesday, was declared open by the state governor, Mai Mala Buni, with participants drawn from ministries, departments, and agencies in the state.

each participant gets new phone (iphone) and a laptop computer.

The governor was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali.

Baba Wali said the workshop is timely and needed to create awareness to the public on what the government is doing for the people.

Also, the workshop is expected to enhance the capacity of the state information officers, and is facilitated by resource persons from reputable institutions.

Professor Danjuma Gambo of the department of Mass Communication, University of Maiduguri, is among the facilitators.

The three days program covers various topics, including best practices in information dissemination and media engagement.

Abdullahi Bego, the Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, expressed gratitude to Governor Buni for supporting the initiative.

In his remarks , Bego charges participants to emerge as better-equipped information officers, skilled in their jobs and proficient across all media platforms.

The workshop is a significant step towards enhancing the relationship between the government and the public, promoting transparency and effective communication, the commissioner noted.
