Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has frowned on the decay in the civil service in the State.

The Governor who made this known at the EXCO Chambers Government House Jalingo while receiving the report of a committee set up by the State Government for the screening and selection of a substantive Head of Civil Service observed that the Civil Service in Taraba State is in slumber and warned Civil Servants to Sit up to their responsibilities.

Governor Kefas promised to act on the report of the Committee and converted it into ‘a Responsive Civil Service Monitoring team’ to suggest areas of training and capacity building for civil servants.

He directed for the provision of Office Accommodation and vehicles to the team which assignment will last for six months.

Submitting the report, Chairman of the committee, Danladi Kifasi disclosed that there is a gap in the State Civil Service that needs urgent attention.

Danladi Kifasi a former Head of Civil Service of the Federation further said that there is also the need for training and capacity building of the Civil Servants to drive the vision of the Governor to actualization.

It could be recalled that the Governor Inaugurated the Committee on January 5th, 2024 to screen and recommend candidates for appointment into the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the State, thereafter the Committee swung into action screened Permanent Secretaries which culminated into submitting its report to the Governor for appointment of a substantive Head of Civil Service in Taraba State following the expiration of the Contract of Mrs. Suzy Jemima Nathan who has been on that position for some time.

  1. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!”

  3. I do enjoy the way you have presented this issue plus it does supply us a lot of fodder for thought. Nevertheless, from everything that I have experienced, I just hope as the actual commentary pack on that men and women remain on issue and in no way get started upon a soap box of some other news of the day. All the same, thank you for this excellent piece and while I do not concur with the idea in totality, I value your viewpoint.
