Earlier today, September 20, 2013, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft that operate as Operation Hakin Kai destroyed a gun truck containing about 8 terrorists in Baranga Village, Marte Local Government Area, Borno State, as part of the ongoing onslaught against remaining terrorists in the Northeast.

The chance struck came unexpectedly when two armed terrorists on a motorbike down a busy route were being pursued. The terrorists hid themselves under a dense canopy of forest after spotting the aircraft.

According to Zagazola Makama, “Upon engaging the vegetation cover, a gun truck with 8 terrorists suddenly appeared, speeding off to evade the attack. Subsequently, the gun truck was engaged and destroyed, thus eliminating the terrorists.  Remnants of terrorists in the Northeast continue to seek the covers of thick forests and vegetation to evade being detected by the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies.”
