20-man committee set up for palliatives distribution in Adamawa

A 20-man committee has been set up by the Government of Adamawa State to handle the distribution of palliatives.

The distribution of palliatives is aimed at cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the people in the state.

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, governor of the state who set up the committee on Sunday said the committee will be inaugurated August 24 by 11:00am at the Conference Hall Government House Yola.

According to him, the palliatives coordination and distribution committee will comprise various organisations, agencies, groups and individuals who will oversee the collection and distribution to the right people in the state.

‘Items to be distributed in the first instance include mainly grains and foodstuff,’ he said.

Awwal D Tukur, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG and Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, ADSEMA will serve as chair and secretary of the committee respectively.
