The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State chapter, has expressed shock at the collapse of the ancient and historic mosque at Kofar Fada, Zaria Local Government Area of the state, leading to the loss of lives and injury to others.

A statement issued by Rev Joseph John Hayab and Rev Ma’aji Caleb, Chairman and Secretary, respectively, said, “We received with grief the sudden collapse of the ancient and historic Mosque at Kofar Fada, Zaria on Friday, 11th August 2023, during ta’asar prayers. This resulted in the death of many worshippers that were observing their obligatory prayers, and many sustained various degrees of injuries.”

The statement explained that CAN, on behalf of the Christian community, commiserates with the Emir of Zazzau and all the Muslim Ummah in the state over the unfortunate incident.

The association prayed that God would grant the departed Aljanah Firdausi and grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and graciously heal all those injured.
