Police apprehend drug dealer for raping 5-year-old girl in Yobe

An 18-year-old boy Muhammed Audu has been arrested for raping a 5-year-old girl, Amina Adamu, in Kayeri village of Fune local government area in Yobe State.

The victim on Sunday, April 30, 2023, was said to have accompanied her senior sister to hawk kola nut around Kabul area in Kayeri community when the drug dealer sent the girl to buy something for him.

The suspect followed her immediately without the knowledge of her sister and brought her into an uncompleted Mosque around Kabul area where he forced the victim to remove all her clothes and took advantage of her innocence.

According to the source, the suspect was said to have had carnal knowledge of the girl by using ointment to penetrate into both the front and back of the victim’s private area which caused her bruises and made her bleed.

“While at the act, he heard the sound of passerby and tried to run away but was arrested and was forced to narrate what he committed to them,” the source said.

The suspect has been handed to the police in Damagum town for further investigation.
