The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State has scheduled the flag-off of its governorship campaign for Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Zing, headquarters of Zing Local Government Area.
Ahead of the campaign, the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has appointed members of the campaign council to coordinate activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement, the Media Director of the PDP Governorship Campaign Council, Sulaiman Ibrahim Ahmed, said Senator Bwacha had approved the appointment of a 251-member campaign council comprising 23 directorates, as well as zonal and local government-level door-to-door coordination offices.
The statement named Ambassador Hassan Jika Ardo, a former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, as chairman of the campaign council, with Engineer Augustine Yazang Bazing as alternate chairman.
Senator Bwacha also appointed Hon. Sule Abubakar Ndigmay as Director-General of the council, while Dr Yakubu Agbidye was named alternate Director-General.
According to the statement, the campaign council will oversee directorates responsible for strategy, research and planning, women and youth engagement, legal and compliance, persons with disabilities, and liaison with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), among others.
The statement urged those appointed to work hard to justify the confidence placed in them and contribute to the party’s campaign to “fix Taraba State”.
The PDP is seeking to win the governorship election in Taraba in 2027.
