The Muslim community in Taraba State and the family of Abdulmalik Inuwa have thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for sponsoring the young reciter’s participation in an international Qur’anic competition in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued in the state capital, Jalingo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Muslim Religious Matters, Alhaji Hussaini Isma’il, said Dr Kefas had supported Inuwa throughout the competition, covering costs from the start of his journey to its conclusion.
The adviser described the governor’s assistance as more than financial help. He said it showed a commitment to promoting Qur’anic education, developing young talent and giving Taraba youths opportunities to compete nationally and internationally.
During the competition and at the celebration of Taraba State’s 35th anniversary on 27 August 2026, Governor Kefas publicly honoured Inuwa for representing Nigeria. The statement called the achievement a source of pride for the family, the Muslim community, Taraba State and the country.
The statement also thanked the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, for his contribution to Inuwa’s successful participation.
Alhaji Isma’il said the support from both leaders had encouraged Inuwa and other young people to pursue excellence and continue bringing recognition to Taraba and Nigeria.
On behalf of Inuwa’s family and the state’s Muslim community, the adviser expressed gratitude to Governor Kefas for the sponsorship and encouragement, and prayed for continued guidance and success in his leadership.
