IGP orders crackdown on Boko Haram over attack on Borno police station

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a crackdown on the Boko Haram terrorists responsible for the deadly attack on the Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State.

The attack, which occurred on Thursday at around 12:10 AM, claimed the lives of two police officers, Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat, while leaving another officer critically injured.

The terrorists, who exchanged gunfire with officers on duty, were eventually overpowered and repelled with the assistance of the civilian joint taskforce stationed nearby.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumiyiwa Adejobi, the IGP condemned the attack and described it as a heinous act of violence.
