Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya has suspended the village head of Garin Majidadi, Mohammed Majidadi and councilor Abdullahi Panda, representing Kumo East Ward in Akko Local Government area of the state, due to their alleged involvement in the theft of an electricity transformer.

The suspension, announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, was based on the Gombe State Local Government (Amendment) Law, 2013.

Both the councilor and the village head were paraded by the police and are currently facing trial for conspiracy in the theft at Garin Majidadi.

“The suspension is a preventive measure to ensure no interference in the legal process.

“Governor Inuwa Yahaya reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the rule of law and expressed confidence that justice will prevail,” the SSG said in a statement.
