Police officer murdered and house set ablaze in Yobe

Sule Babur, a police officer was murdered by unknown assailants at his residence in Yobe State.

The incident occurred on Saturday night in Mairi community, Buni Yadi, Gujba LGA, Yobe State.

After killing him the perpetrators set his house ablaze.

While confirming the incident to our reporter on Sunday morning, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesman of Yobe Police Command said investigation is underway.

He said the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

The community is mourning. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The community condemned the murder and destruction of property and urged that the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
