Former Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian, Martins Oloja, and Professor of Journalism and New Media at the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Nuhu D. Gapsiso, will deliver the NNPC Foundation Symposium on Energy and Sustainable Environment Communication.
The symposium is scheduled to take place on May 22-23, 2025, at the main campus of Pan-Atlantic University.
The event is organized by the Centre for Media and Communication Research at Pan-Atlantic University in partnership with the NNPC Foundation.
According to Dr. Nelson Okorie, Director of the Centre for Media and Communication Research, the symposium aims to proffer solutions on how environment communication can serve as a sustainable intervention to mitigate issues of energy and climate change in the country.
The symposium is also a Corporate Social Responsibility program of the NNPC Foundation, promoting the sustainable development of the Nigerian ecosystem.
The event will feature notable guests, including National President of the African Council of Communication Education, Prof. Abdullahi Bashir, and co-panel chairs Dr. Amina Abana of the University of Maiduguri and Dr. Sunday John of Pan-Atlantic University.
Other expected guests include Thomas Samuel of the Taraba State Broadcasting Service and Rasaq Adisa of the University of Ilorin.
