Nigeria’s bid to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations with Benin Republic has been dashed.

This follows the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to award the rights to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) made the announcement at the end of its executive committee meeting on Wednesday.

Morocco won the right to stage the 2025 edition of the AFCON finals.

Nigeria last hosted Africa’s largest football competition in 2000.

The country co-hosted the competition alongside Ghana.
