Kidnappers attack El-Rufai estate in Abuja

Some terrorists suspected to be kidnappers causing mayhem in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have attacked the El-Rufai Estate in Bwari Area Council.

It is gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday when the assailants invaded the area shooting sporadically.

A man simply identified as Nathaniel was reportedly shot by the gunmen who engaged operatives of the FCT Police Command in a gun duel.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT command, Josephine Adeh confirmed the incident in a chat with DAILY POST, saying “Yes, it is true”.

Our correspondent gathered that the kidnappers attempted to abduct many of the residents before the Police operatives foiled their operation.

A fierce gun duel between the operatives and the criminal elements reportedly lasted about 30 minutes.
